The seminar will offer participants a number of different case presentations from which to choose. Kick-starting the course is a series of sessions, offered on Saturday and Sunday, on topics from endocrinology to hematology and oncology. Highlights include:
Other draws are a number of faculty panels and sessions on sports medicine/general pediatrics and genetics/dysmorphology. The seminar will conclude with presentations on adolescent health, gynecology and substance abuse by Nimi Singh, M.D., M.P.H., FAAP; dermatology by Will Sorey, M.D., FAAP; gastrointestinal disorders by Carlo di Lorenzo, M.D., FAAP; and infectious diseases by Charles Reece Woods Jr., M.D., M.S., FAAP. PREP the Course programming is a concentrated review of general pediatric medicine and practice. It is especially helpful for physicians preparing for the American Board of Pediatrics Maintenance of Certification examination. Attendees can participate in sessions that cover general pediatric issues or delve more deeply into specific fields or topics. Pre- and post-session tests are offered through the PREP Web site, www.aap.org/profed/prep.htm, to help attendees prepare for their chosen diagnostic sessions, and then to review what they have garnered from the sessions. Attendees can earn up to 37.25 AMA PRA Category 1 credits.
