While physicians no longer are seeing the severe effects of lead poisoning they saw in children 20 years ago, Henry Falk, M.D., FAAP, said children still are suffering from exposure to hazardous levels of lead. Dr. Falk and Ruth Etzel, M.D., FAAP, say children are exposed to environmental hazards including lead, passive tobacco smoke, and radon gas.
