All in the family

AAP membership certificates state that the Academy was founded to "foster and stimulate interest in pediatrics, and in all aspects of the work for the welfare of children." Richard Narkewicz, M.D., appears to have fostered that interest right at home. In August, he became the first AAP president to sign a membership certificate for his son.
