AAP News Vol. 4 No. 10 October 1988, p. 15 © 1988 American Academy of Pediatrics
AAP membership certificates state that the Academy was founded to "foster and stimulate interest in pediatrics, and in all aspects of the work for the welfare of children." Richard Narkewicz, M.D., appears to have fostered that interest right at home. In August, he became the first AAP president to sign a membership certificate for his son. Michael Narkewicz, M.D., (center) is shown here with his father and sister, Karen, who also has become a Resident Fellow of the Academy.
