BabyCise and lessons learned

Stuart M. Copperman M.D., FAAP1

1 Merrick, New York

I would very much like to publicly apologize to the Academy and, specifically, to Drs. Joseph Greensher, Paul Dyment and Herbert Cohen for having used their positions as Academy chairpersons to imply personal or Academy support for BabyCise.

Having written BabyCise, I am, naturally, enthused about it. I do not, however, have a share in any profits the videotape may make for Matchbox Toys, USA, the manufacturer. When the manufacturer asked me to address my colleagues by letter, advising them of the fact that this is NOT a "SuperBaby" program and that it is meant to improve bonding, communication and parent-child interaction, I readily agreed.
