Parental leave: AAP support issued

Changes having a major impact on families are occurring in the work force. More and more infants are being born into homes where both parents work. At the same time, too few work places provide adequate flexibility to allow workers to carry out their parenting responsibilities.

Stating these facts, the Academy recently announced its support, in principle, for efforts to promote job security for working families while allowing parents to be with their children at critical parenting times.
