Physician to discuss improving diagnosis of abdominal conditons

Recent advances in diagnostic techniques can help increase the diagnostic accuracy of appendicitis from 80 percent to more than 95 percent, according to David L. Collins, M.D., FAAP.

Dr. Collins, a clinical professor of surgery at the University of California in San Diego, will discuss new advances in diagnosis and management, of acute abdominal conditions at the AAP Continuing Medical Education (CME) course "Advances in Pediatrics V." The course is scheduled for June 19-21 in Toronto.
