Bylaws revisions would affect membership, establishing chapters

The AAP Executive Board recently approved sweeping amendments to the Academy's governing documents that, if ratified, would create new membership categories, allow sections to grant "affiliate status" to non-AAP members and formalize the process by which new chapters are created.

The proposed new Constitution and Bylaws will be presented to the entire membership on a referendum ballot later this spring after they have been reviewed by legal counsel. The last extensive revision to these documents was ratified by the membership in 1981.
