Top appointments

• William Reed Bell, M.D., FAAP, recently was named acting director of the Office for Substance Abuse Prevention in the Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Mental Health Administration (ADAMHA).

The Office for Substance Abuse Prevention was formed after passage of the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986. Dr. Bell also serves as a member of the AAP Committee on Bioethics.

U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Otis Bowen, M.D., recently appointed Fellow Robert G. Kettrick, M.D., as chairman of a congressional task force on technology-dependent children.
