Alfred M. Bongiovanni, M.D., FAAP, died Aug. 10 at Pennsylvania Hospital. He was 64. Dr. Bongiovanni, who had treated young patients for more than 30 years, was known throughout the world for his research in endocrinology. He was physician-in-chief of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia from 1963 to 1972, also serving as the director of the hospital's Division of Endocrinology and Endocrine Research. As a senior physician in the Department of Pediatrics, he became president of the medical staff in 1967.
