Q: Dr. Strain, you've worked as a private practitioner and as a clinical professor. You've served the Academy as chapter chairman, district chairman and president. You've also served on numerous committees and editorial boards. From your perspective, what are the most important issues facing pediatrics now as well as down the road? A: There are several important issues. The first would have to be a broad, general concern about the future of pediatrics and the pediatrician's role in delivering child health care.
