Stephen Ludwig, M.D., FAAP, demonstrates how to help someone in shock during KIDS REACT, a first aid mini-course for children aged seven through 12 years. Sponsored by the Emergency Medicine Department of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the course covered how to handle fear in an emergency, basic first aid, what to do if an adult gets sick and a "mock" tour of the emergency department. Two sessions of the course, the last one taking place in April, each attracted more than 200 children.
