In the 4
months that Ron Miller, M.D., FAAP, has experimented with "open access scheduling," his practice has lost the equivalent of three providers, yet increased the number of patients seen by 20 percent, increased patient satisfaction 20 to 30 percent, increased revenues, decreased accounts receivable and seen staff satisfaction bolt upward by 40 percent.
"Open access was the opening stroke to all this," said Dr. Miller, of Magic Health Partners, Twin Falls, Idaho.
