U.S. House and Senate approve disappointing juvenile justice legislation

When the U.S. House and Senate passed legislation this spring to address juvenile justice issues, many child advocates called the bills an injustice for the health and safety of incarcerated youth.

The Academy and other organizations have expressed serious concerns about how this legislation will negatively affect conditions for children and adolescents in the juvenile justice system.
