Update: Generic drug industry drops lawsuit against FDA

In May, the generic drug industry made a surprise announcement that it was dropping its lawsuit over a law that addresses testing drugs for use in children. With the case now over, the AAP-supported pediatric provision of the Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act (FDAMA) will move forward to ensure that more drugs are tested and labeled for children.

The Academy showed support for the pediatric provision in FDAMA by making a compelling oral argument before the judge and submitting a written amicus brief in favor of FDAMA.
