93 gun deaths in Japan vs. 36,000 in America: Don't we get it?

I am writing this article the day after the Columbine High School massacre in Littleton, Colo. I am writing after I have watched, read and shed tears for the Littleton families who have suffered such a grievous loss. A colleague and friend from Australia, Frank Oberklaid, commented before Littleton at the AAP Spring Meeting that while our countries share many problems, there are two problems Australia does not and will not have — uninsured and guns!
