AAP News Vol. 15 No. 6 June 1999, p. 4 © 1999 American Academy of Pediatrics
Last month, AAP News reported the Academy had submitted a request to intervene in a federal lawsuit over a law that addresses testing drugs for use in children. The generic drug industry brought a federal case against the AAP-supported pediatric provilsion of the Food and Drug Aministration Modernization Act (FDAMA). While the Academy was not accepted as an intervenor in the case, AAP lawyers were permitted to make a compelling oral argument and submit written amicus brief in favor of FDAMA.
