AAP committee defines pediatrician's role in community

Community pediatrics and community pediatrician are terms seen frequently in our literature, and many pediatric residency programs now have community pediatric electives. Although community pediatrics is becoming more prevalent, it has been difficult to define what the term means - until now.

It's no coincidence that the AAP Committee on Community Health Services (COCHS) defined the role of the pediatrician in community pediatrics in a policy statement published in the June Pediatrics.
