JACOBI AWARD

Myron "Mike" Genel, M.D., FAAP, accepts the Abraham Jacobi Memorial Award from AAP President Joel Alpert. Dr. Genel, a pediatrics professor at Yale School of Medicine, was honored for his leadership in academia and organized medicine, particularly his contributions to creation of the National Organ Transplant Act of 1984 and his work in formulating public policy on organ procurement programs and reimbursement mechanisms for organ transplants. He also has written extensively on pediatric endocrinology and metabolism.
