Pediatric dentistry section wins Academy approval

A mother is concerned because her 2-year-old is still using a pacifier. An examination of a child's mouth reveals a malocclusion. A teen-age patient admits her lunch typically consists of a candy bar and a can of pop.

Pediatricians who face these and other oral health issues now have a new resource — the AAP Section on Pediatric Dentistry, which was approved in March.
