Vaccine recommendations among Red Book changes

A number of recent changes in immunization recommendations, along with a host of other new recommendations on a variety of diseases, will be reflected in the 2000 Red Book, which is scheduled to be published in early spring.

The 25th edition of the Report of the AAP Committee on Infectious Diseases (COID) will include many significant changes from the 1997 edition, including recommendations for polio, meningococcal, hepatitis A and varicella vaccines, said Editor Larry K. Pickering, M.D., FAAP.
