Child health care plan nears completion

A number of the Academy's health care objectives are reflected in congressional plans to provide health care to children and adolescents, and if all goes well, a final version may be ready for President Clinton's consideration by early August.

The Senate and House both have budget agreements containing funds for health care through age 18, but they have diverse ideas on how to spend them. Congressional representatives were meeting at press time to reconcile the differences between the two bills.
