Vice presidential election 1998: Candidates outline accomplishments

Donald Cook, M.D. Greeley, Colo.

Donald Cook was born in Pittsburgh in 1928. He graduated from high school in Pueblo, Colo., in 1946, having been both football captain and first violinist in the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra. He spent two years in the Navy before attending Colorado College.

Don received his M.D. from Colorado; interned at Fresno County Hospital; did a general practice residency at Tulare County Hospital and his pediatric residency at Colorado University in 1958. He practiced in Aurora, Colo., until 1964 where he was medical society president before moving to Greeley where he and his wife, Elsie, raised their four children. He currently is practicing at Montford Children's Clinic, which he founded in 1994.
