Academy publishes child symptoms guide for parents

The Guide to Your Child's Symptoms is the Academy's newest book for parents and caregivers and the most complete, authoritative, and easy-to-use guide to children's symptoms available. This state-of-the-art reference book was prepared under the direction of co-editors Donald Schiff, M.D., FAAP, and Steven P. Shelov, M.D., M.S., FAAP, and extensively reviewed by a nine-member advisory group and over 30 pediatricians.

At the heart of Guide to Your Child's Symptonms is an A-to-Z directory of more than 100 of the most common childhood symptoms, presented in clearly illustrated, easy-to-follow charts. Its design enables parents to quickly identify a symptom, learn its possible cause, and determine how best to proceed, whether it's taking action at home or calling the pediatrician immediately. The book also includes an illustrated first-aid manual, a guide to food safety and an extensive index.
