Retired Navy Capt. Eugene A. Cernan will deliver the keynote address at the AAP Annual Meeting in New Orleans. Capt. Cernan served as a U.S. astronaut in the NASA Space Program from 1963 to 1976, flying on three separate space missions. He was the second American to walk in space as the pilot of Gemini IX, one of a crew of three to venture to the moon on Apollo X, and served as commander of Apollo XVII. Capt. Cernan holds the distinction of being the last man to leave his footprints on the surface of the moon. His address will focus on "The Legacy of Apollo."
