Dr. Perelman tapped as new AAP department of education director

Robert H. Perelman, M.D., joined the Academy staff Oct. 1 as director of the AAP Department of Education.

Dr. Perelman was director of the University of Wisconsin and Meriter Hospital Regional Perinatal Outreach Education Program, director of the South Central Wisconsin Perinatal Center Infant Apnea and Monitoring Program, and associate professor of the department of pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

Born in Cleveland, he received his medical degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus and interned at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

As director of the Department of Education, Dr. Perelman will be responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and administering AAP medical educational programs.
