If there's one thing that blows parents' minds, it's when they find out their teenagers are smoking. Even parents who smoke prefer their teens do not, although they might realize "Well, I do it, so what can I expect?" But parents who are nonsmokers (and ex-smokers) are horrified. There's so much information out there about health risks from smoking, why would anyone want to start? Statistics are discouraging; teen smoking is on the rise. This happens even in families that have rationally educated their kids about the dangers of smoking.
