1996 Annual Meeting Awards

AAP Immediate Past President Maurice E. Keenan, M.D., presented Outstanding Chapter Awards in three categories.

The Small Chapter Award was presented to the Nebraska Chapter for efforts that include: creating a state comprehensive pediatric health plan; pursuing positive policy responses to early discharge of newborns; Medicaid Managed Care policy development; and quality continuing medical education for its members.

The Medium Chapter Award was presented to the Iowa Chapter for: achieving passage of post-delivery stay legislation; a successful conference on managed care and pediatrics; Child Health Month activities resulting in broader distribution of violence prevention information; and developing "Fax Track," an innovative bill-tracking system for legislation affecting pediatrics and children's health.
