Revised antitrust guidelines reduce risks for physician networks

The Department of Justice's Antitrust Division and the Federal Trade Commission recently released a revised version of their Statements of Antitrust Enforcement Policy in Health Care ("Policy Statements") for physician network joint ventures and multiprovider networks.

The revised Policy Statements have been praised by both physician and payer groups. Further attempts to pass federal legislation in this area now appear unlikely.
