Chapters to measure interest in establishing research network

AAP chapter leaders will be asked this month to poll their membership regarding interest in the potential establishment of an AAP collaborative research network.

Such a network would allow office-based pediatricians to collectively select and conduct practice-related research projects.

The importance of office-based research is emphasized by the fact that three-fourths of all health care visits made by U.S. children are to office-based physicians. In contrast, most data generated about child health care comes from studies conducted in other settings such as hospitals, clinics or academic institutions.
