Coalition advocates for use of seatbelts in school buses

Through a policy statement on school bus safety published in February and in recent testimony advocating seat belt safety, the Academy has shown its support for a national mandate for seat belts on school buses.

Other groups have been coordinating grass-roots efforts to protect children who travel in school buses. One such group, the National Coalition for Seatbelts on School Buses (NCSSB), was formed in 1984. The group disseminates school bus seat belt research and conducts educational programs.
