Day promotes fitness

People nationwide will be encouraged to exercise on Running & Fitness Day, Oct. 12. The American Running & Fitness Association reminds pediatricians to urge parents and, children to participate in the event.

The association suggests that pediatricians assist groups in sponsoring "fun runs," sports medicine seminars or other activities geared toward encouraging good health through exercise.

"Most importantly, make sure you get out and exercise," an association spokesman said.
