Research Dept. session a first

Pediatric manpower profiles and an analysis of pediatrician participation in the Medicaid program will highlight an AAP Annual Meeting session titled "Research on Pediatric Practice."

The session marks the first presentation by the AAP Department of Research at an Annual Meeting.

A slide show at the start of the program will introduce session participants to current AAP research projects. Subsequent discussions on pediatrician manpower will include a review of the following information: preliminary census data on AAP fellows; profiles of pediatrician distribution across the nation; and profiles of women in pediatrics.

A presentation on the problems and possible solutions of providing pediatric care to poor children also will be featured. The presentation will review the Children's Medicaid Program in Suffolk County and analyze pediatric participation in state Medicaid programs.
