Injury prevention handbook, safety slips supplement TIPP

Physicians interested in educating parents about injury prevention should order the AAP publication A Guide to Implementing Safety Counseling, which can be used with materials provided through The Injury Prevention Program (TIPP) to incorporate childhood safety counseling into regular office visits.

Physicians who participate in the program will receive a kit that includes an AAP policy statement on accident prevention counseling and a suggested "minimum standard of care" schedule outlining safety issues practitioners should discuss with parents during each preventive health visit through age four.
