In memoriam

Francisco A. Hernandez, M.D., FAAP, Miami, died April 14. He was 77.

A childless, self-taught pediatric cardiologist who helped about 12,000 children and considered them his own, Dr. Hernandez was noted as the first children's cardiologist in Florida and a pioneer in using angiocardiography with children. He taught many Florida physicians the art of auscultation of the heart in clinics at National Children's Cardiac Hospital (NCCH).
