TV studies spawn news reports

A recent AAP policy statement on children and television and an article from the May issue of Pediatrics linking children's obesity to television viewing habits have generated hundreds of news reports across the nation promoting pediatricians' growing concern with the effects of television on childrens' health.

"Society increasingly is becoming aware of the pervasiveness of television," explained H. James Holroyd, M.D., FAAP, chairman of the AAP Task Force on Children and Television.
