Expressing the Academy's concern regarding the "increasing price our children are paying for the thrill of mobility," an AAP spokesman testified last month before a congressional subcommittee about injuries related to three-wheel allterrain vehicles (ATV). "The desire to be carried at a speed greater than our legs allow continues to spur the imagination of inventors and industry, leaving in their wake a stream of broken bodies and an unacceptable death toll," Joseph Greensher, M.D., FAAP, told members of the Commerce, Consumer and Monetary Affairs Subcommittee of the Committee on Government Operations.
