Board approves initial steps for AAP health delivery system

In a related child health financing action, the Academy is investigating the possibility of sponsoring and or developing a national pediatric health care delivery system.

A resolution authorizing preliminary steps toward that goal was approved by the Executive Board at its January meeting. The resolution notes that "significant financial barrners exist which restrict access of children to quality health care," and that in a price competitive environment, many children may not receive care from pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, and pediatric and university hospitals.
