Washington: A city for children

Civic leaders, businesses and community groups are reshaping Seattle's future through KidsPlace, a project aimed at making the city more livable for children.

KidsPlace activities kicked off last spring with the development of a 30-item action agenda to make the city more appealing to children and their families. Other activities have included a city-wide KidsDay in April and the establishment of a board of middle and high school students that reviews public policy plans and develops projects of their own to make Seattle a better place for children.
