AAP testifies for stricter controls on handgun sales, possession

Calling deaths and injuries caused by handguns a "preventable public health problem," an Academy spokesman testified last month against a Senate bill that weakens the existing Gun Control Act.

Addressing the Crime Subcommittee of the House Committee on the Judiciary, Joseph Greensher, M.D., FAAP, also called for additional measures to bolster handgun control legislation.
